Hi We would dearly love to adopt a little girl puppy. We live in the countryside and 5 minutes from the beach. We can offer a warm, loving home for life to our little girl. There are no small children at home just my self, teenage son and a very placid and sociable rag doll cat! We are aware of all the responsibility that comes with getting a dog as we had a golden retriever for 13yrs from 8 weeks old. I hope that you will be able to help us complete our little family.

Well! We are now a week and a half into an adoption of 4 Shih-Tzus from Malcolm and Chazz.
Chazz, Lara has settle down here and gets in to my lap at every opportunity. Lara was accompanied by 3 of her puppies - William, Bobby and little Corrie. Our existing dogs - a 9 year old Shih-Tzu, Rosie, and a Parsons Russell - Poppy. All friction at the start is now a fading memory. But, to start Rosie did not eat for nearly 4 days, and terrified of a wall of puppies wanting to play. Now Rosie is lying by me, as I type, and Lara is on Rosie's pillow, and Corrie is sleeping next to her. Where the rest are God knows. Feeding time is amusing. |

I lost my little Tilly 10 days ago she was a Shih Tzu cross but I was never sure what with. She came to me soon after my mum died and gave me back my reason to get up and get on with life. She was living with a family that had got her for breeding but when they found out she wasn\'t a pure Shih Tzu they didn\'t want her anymore and were going to abandon her. It was coming up to Christmas 12 year\'s ago and I rushed around to their house and said I would look after her for Christmas as they would probably have second thoughts come the New Year. They never came back and I was so pleased as we bonded straight away. Tilly came everywhere with me and because of her 3 of my friends now have Shih Tzu\'s. She was never a well dog and I never knew her real age but she had to be 14 when she died so she did really well and the hardest thing I every had to do was let her go but it was the kindest. I would love to offer a good home to another dog or even 2 as it is just me now and a very old cat now and we miss Tilly so much. I think this website is amazing and the people that work with the animals must be amazing people too.

Hello. My partner and I live near Weston-super-Mare and have not had a dog since my Golden Retriever died a long time ago, when we were living separately.
I loved that dog so much, and her passing was so painful. I adore the breed, but decided when Abbie passed that the next dog I had would be an entirely different breed - it seemed almost disloyal to her memory to have another one like her. I see Abbie in every Goldie I see - even now!! Over time I have come to realise that a small dog, that has lots of spark and adventurous spirit is what we should have. I had considered Westie's, and Cairns, and then one day when out walking I met a lady with a Shih Tzu and she totally sold me on the idea of having one. In fact, by the time we had ended our chat that day (at Brean Down last September) she had given me every reason why I wanted this breed. We have now decided to bring a dog into our lives in the Spring - we both have commitments that take us away from home between now and then. However, nothing is impossible, so if the dog who is born to live with us comes available before April/May, then we can move the odd mountain to make it happen. The purpose of this post is to let you know of our desire to give a home to a Shih Tzu, preferably a male, and preferably a pup or very young dog. I know it sounds daft, but I would so love to see it grow up. Blessings to everyone whose love and kindness makes this site possible. |

Zak is a 4 year old Shi-tzu that I took in 2 years ago in a very sad state. His skin was so bad that he had rubbed off most of his fur, he had untreated ear infections which has left him very hard of hearing. He also suffered badly from separation anxiety as he had been left alone for much of the time.
All his problems have been sorted, he now sleeps happily downstairs and can be left for reasonable periods of time. He has been with my other dogs so would benefit from have a canine friend. I did consider keeping him but we recently lost our old GSD who was alpha dog now I have a problem with Zak trying to take her position above the other GSD and it has resulted in scraps. He is very affectionate and loves a cuddle so would make an excellent companion for a single older person.Zak has been used to having the same exercise as the large dogs so is very fit. He is fine with children but needs to be watched when they are eating. I have had him neutered and microchipped and his injections, worming and flee treatments are all up to date. Zak deserves a kind, forever home. |
